Is there a place for a Good God?

The justification of sadness and evil in a 'God's world' is unsolvable. We must either remove the attribute of infinite love from Him (which would fundamentally change the definition of today's God), or learn to believe there exists no suffering. And, I don't see how we could ever achieve the latter.
