Monkey and the typewriter

I understand the underlying logic behind the statement that a monkey with a typewriter will someday produce a sonnet given enough time is the mathematical argument that any event with a positive probability must happen given enough occurrences.

But does a monkey has positive probability to hit all the keys? Monkey is a metaphor - understood. The more abstract version of my question is, how does one know if all the events are philosophically plausible has non-zero probability of actually happening?
